February 19 to 22 was the Future Farmers of America Week. Each day, the FFA members and anyone else who chose to participate wore certain outfits on certain days of the week. Tuesday was Cowboy or Cowgirl Day, Wednesday was Camo Day, Thursday was Jorts and Hawaiian Shirts Day, and Friday was Blue and Gold Day. Blue and gold are the national FFA colors.

We hold Ag Week every year to celebrate George Washington's birthday, February 22. George Washington is symbolic to the United States and FFA members. In Parliamentary Procedure, FFA members come together as a small team to conduct a mock chapter meeting that demonstrates their knowledge of parliamentary law and correct parliamentary procedures. The treasurer is stationed at the emblem of Washington. Washington is a symbol because he kept careful records of his farmhouse, and he showed skills of leadership and independence. FFA leaders encourage all FFA members to be independent like Washington was.

On Washington's birthday, the FFA leaders held a lunch for the FFA members and students to reward them for the time and dedication they put into all the events they do to gain more members. FFA Week is one of the many activities they do to reach out to the student body and gain more FFA members.

FFA held a ham dinner for the staff that was donated by the farm bureau of the county, to show their appreciation for the local FFA members and community. Washington’s birthday was also Hat Day. FFA members asked students to bring in $1 or one can of food so they could wear the hat all day. The money went towards the Habitat House and the canned food went towards the Orange Congregations In Mission, OCIM.
