The 2013 Orange High School lacrosse season took a while to get started, but it was well worth the wait. The team had six games cancelled before finally taking the field in a doubleheader against Northern Durham.

The Junior Varsity team played first and was in control the whole game. The team was led by Dylan Webb and Zach Wright, both scored 5 goals in the game. The rest of the scoring was done by Alex Fish and Casey Jacobson, overall the JV team ended up winning 14-3. The defense was lead by goalie Parker Womble, who saved 7 shots in the game.

The varsity lacrosse team followed up the JV’s great performance with another 14-3 victory. Bowen Collins led the way in scoring with four goals and ground balls with 7. Others contributing to the win were Adam Reynolds, Tristan Martin, and Blake Hall, who tallied two goals. The rest of the scoring was done by Thomas Doyle, Tyler McAdoo, Austin Goehring, and Finn Hubbs, who helped with one goal apiece. Dylan McKinnon, the starting goalie, stopped 17 of the 20 shots that the Knights got to the goal.

After the first doubleheader, the Panthers lacrosse team showed us that the season was well worth the wait.
