Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27, 25 Orange High and Cedar Ridge Latin students traveled to Wake Forest University to compete in the North Carolina Junior Classical League annual statewide competition that tests students’ academic, artistic, and physical abilities regarding classics. Orange County Junior Classical League (OCJCL) was placed in the large team division, and was ranked 5th out of 24 teams from across North Carolina.

The theme of the year was Back to the Future, leading to OCJCL's decision to make a TARDIS, the time box of the Doctor from the BBC show Doctor Who.

Individual events ranged from Olympika, the field day type activities, to arts events to Certamen, which is a Latin quiz bowl competition. Students compete for individual points by placing in the competition, which contributes to the total amount of points that the team earns as a whole.

As a team, OCJCL won 1st for its team website, 2nd for its team scrapbook, and 3rd in publicity. Because of the first place win, a representative from Orange County will be appointed to run the North Carolina JCL website as a state officer.

In individual competitions, many OCJCL members placed for their hard work. Awards for Orange High School members include:
