Orange High School’s FACTS classes took a field trip to the Biltmore House on Thursday, April 11.These classes take this trip every year to help their students get a better understanding of the housing and interior and help the students understand the objective of the class.

The Biltmore House holds excellent examples of window treatments, furniture that compliments the room, and the house itself. This year the group went on a new tour, the architecture tour, which is on the fourth floor. For the first time, the advisers are seeing this new level of the house. Ms. Schaub, Ms. Braxton, and Ms. Thomas all were happy their students got to see the fourth floor with them for the first time. They got to walk out on the porches of the fourth floor and see an overview of the surroundings of the house.

Ms. Schaub said, “It was a great trip!” She encourages students to take her housing and interior classes so students have the opportunity to see the Biltmore House. Ms. Braxton said, “We had a great group of students, beautiful day, lots of historical architecture, and learned a lot of new North Carolina history.” Ms. Braxton enjoys going on this trip every second semester.
