May 9, the Anime Club had their last meeting of the school year. It took place in the media center from 8:00 to 8:45 am. They ate a variety of food and sat around talking about their favorite animes.

The Anime Club gathers every Thursday in the morning as a casual group talking about mutual interests. They study Asian culture along with manga and anime. They debate on what they believe the creators were thinking and what the best anime/manga are. The club answered that they all really love Black Butler, a manga by Yana Toboso.

Ashley Hinkle, the vice president of the club, said, “Anime is a very uplifting genre of its own. It can make you happy and it can make you sad or super confused. Anime is not for everyone, but those who do enjoy it are often changed by certain animes they watch. Anime can be very powerful. It can have historical references or can be totally random. All in all, Anime Club accepts anyone who is interested in or already loving anime. It is really fun and we hope to see some new faces next year. Although I will not be there, there are already very dedicated members who will not let it fall. ”

Hinkle also advises those interested in anime or manga to be cautious. There are a lot of school inappropriate animes.
