Next week, May 20 through 25, the Apparel 2 classes will be selling various student-made accessories. The sale will take place during all three lunches in the Panther’s Den. All funds will be going to the classes next year to fund their accessory sale.
The small business they have created is selling laptop cases, key chains, ear bud cases, cup koozies, pencil pouches, wristlets, neck pillows, stuffed monsters, and more. Everything is priced from $3 to $10.
The students in apparel class have enjoyed hand-making all of these crafts for OHS. Ms. Schaub said that they have really been motivated to make nice things. She said that she tells her students, “Make things how you would want to buy them yourself.” She also talked about how making quality products for other students gives them something positive to focus on.
As of the week prior, the students came up with the business name The Crazy Needle. The business is a part of the curriculum for the class. Schaub said that she is helping them run a business but she is no business teacher. The students look forward to presenting their items soon.
