May 21, 2013 Orange High School presented their band awards. The event took place in the auditorium from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The award ceremony was led by Andy Carter, the band director.
Many different awards were given out to students, such as most improved, leadership awards, and also senior scholarships were recognized. The two band students that received awards, Nathan Tilley and Johnathon Currin, were congratulated on their exemplary success in band.
Casey Nelson, a member of the OHS band, said, “I think that the band has come a really long way, I am very proud of where we have gotten. Band has a lot to show,” as she was talking with her friend Casey Gentry, who won the Freshman Leadership award.
Band students talked about how much better they have become and how happy they are with the program here. There was also a lot of talk about how next year they are going to dominate at their state competitions.
