Samantha Dickerson, 15, is a current sophomore at Orange High School. She also is the sophomore editor for Den Echoes, the school newspaper.
She said she hopes to bring more challenging work and critique to the staff this year. “I definitely want to make it harder on people to write in the correct format.” She loves to attend school, and says she is undecided about what she wants to do because she enjoys all aspects of learning.
Dickerson has a firm stance on why some students don't share her love for school. “I think it has to deal with laziness on both the children and parents. I think everything has to fit together for you to like school… If you're not being pushed or want to succeed, then you won’t.”
When Dickerson is not reporting or at school, she enjoys spending time at her favorite place, the beach. She said, “I used to love the mountains, but I visited the beach last summer and now I don’t want to leave it.” No matter where Dickerson is, you can be assured of one thing: her vibrant personality and thirst for knowledge will be showcased.
