The Panthers advanced to the second round of the playoffs with a 3-1 win over Northeast Guilford. They played Wednesday, May 14 at 7 pm with the Panthers having the home field advantage. It was a game dominated by pitching by both teams. Northeast Guilford led 1-0 due to a fourth inning solo home run, until the 6th inning, when senior Collin Pope and sophomore Brad Debo led the charge for a late rally. They were both driven in by a clutch double from sophomore Bryse Wilson, who was eventually driven in by a Josh Kiehle sacrifice fly.

The Panthers' biggest star of the night was senior starting pitcher Jordan Toney. Toney’s only blemish on the night was the fourth inning home run. He did not get rattled and continued on to pitch an excellent game. He went all seven innings, giving up three hits, and striking out 10, while also ending the game in a dominating fashion by striking out the side in the seventh to close out the victory, thus giving the Panthers a chance to play another day. Orange will play Northern Guilford in the second round.

Update: The Panthers lost to Northern Guilford in the second round. They played against them Saturday, May 17 at 12 pm.
