Written by Juan Springs

The OHS basketball team had one of their greatest seasons ever. Even though there were some losses, they still had a successful season overall. They did not win every single game, but they studied their losses so they could learn from their mistakes. They figured out how to improve their skills as a team, so they will have a better season next year.

The losses they had against Cardinal Gibbons during the conference game at home on Wednesday, January 23, were helpful experiences that the team learned from. This is similar to the loss against Carrboro. They learned from their 5 point loss that they can hustle to get pass that 5 point lead.

They had some great wins that may dominate their losses such as  their win against the Durham School of the Arts, where they won by 17 points. Their lead dropped to 6 points against Orange County’s other high school, Cedar Ridge. Their most recent win was against Northern Vance on Tuesday, January 29 at an away conference game, and they won 47 to 44, but they also lost against Webb on Tuesday, February 12 at another conference game 59 to 42.
