Wednesday, September 19, students from all over the Triangle crowded the Dean Smith Center for the annual college fair. Colleges from across the country set up booths and informed students about their college. Booths were lined up in alphabetical order and were located throughout the venue.
With lines backed out of the door, the Dean Smith Center filled with eager students looking for scholarship opportunities and general college information. At the door, students were given plastic bags with the name of the college fair printed on the surface. The bags were intended for the many fliers that students accumulated as they visited various college booths.
Orange High School students were among these attendees, expanding their knowledge of college life. When asked what college Sarah Downey wanted to attend she said, “I would like to attend Fayetteville State to study forensic science and focus in chemistry. My second college choice is St. Augustine.” Mrs. DeLoatch, a career counselor at Orange High School, planned the school trip to the fair. Students on the trip were from C.W Stanford, Orange High School, Gravelly Hill, and Cedar Ridge.
