May 22, 2013, the spring art show took place from 4:30-6:30 pm in the Orange High School lobby. Many students and parents gathered to see what the OHS art program has been doing this semester. Various paintings, potter pieces, sketches, and sculptures were on display. The showcase brought in lots of interested families and was a huge success.
The show was presented by the artists and art teachers, Elizabeth Dell-Jones and Mary Parker. They were able to meet parents and art enthusiasts and show the workmanship of Orange’s artists. They talked about the students and how far they’ve come.
Art student Cierra Smith said, “The art show was very relaxed, and it was nice for people in the community to come be involved with the program.” Viewers enjoyed drinks and different snacks while browsing the lobby.
People at all different levels and grades showed their art. A big hit of the night were the self portraits by Art II, and the Dragon Sculpture set by senior Ashley Hinkle.
The art program’s show was a huge hit, and there are high hopes for next year’s art. Congratulations to the OHS art program for their outstanding success.
