The administration has started distributing laptops to students in the Learning Commons. Distribution is organized based on subject--English classes received laptops first, followed by science classes, then social studies classes. Upperclassmen who are not in those classes received laptops afterwards. Laptops have started being distributed to freshmen in English classes.

Assistant Principal Will Okun said that the school will “probably” have to buy additional laptops. When the school ordered laptops last year, some freshmen had to wait a few weeks for them to arrive. He added that “you never know” what will happen, but he hopes the school counted correctly. There wasn’t enrollment data when they ordered the laptops, so the amount ordered may have been too low. Austin Welch, a help desk worker, said distribution has been “pretty smooth” so far, but that the school will have to order more laptops for freshmen.

Sophomore Ben Coates, 15, who has not received his laptop yet, stated, “I’m upset because I haven’t gotten my laptop yet. I don’t know why… I don’t really like laptops that much.” He said that he does not “think that would be fair” if some freshmen have to wait until more laptops are ordered. Sophomore Derek Lindaman, 15, said that “[laptops] have really helped my learning experience at OHS.”

Students must pay their laptop fees and turn in all necessary forms to receive a laptop.
