Deputies say Orange County man shoots wife

Hillsborough, N.C - Larry Adkins Griffin, an Orange County man, is accused of shooting his wife several times on March 9, deputies say. Around 3:30 a.m, the police reported to a domestic dispute at a residence on University Station Road. When the police got there, they found a female who had been shot multiple times.
                The police were able to get the victim medical help and take the suspect, Griffin, into custody. Griffin is charged with assault with a deadly weapon and inflicting serious injury with intent to kill. He is currently being held at the Orange County Jail.
                The woman (whose name is not released) is recovering at Duke Hospital from several gunshot wounds. Her current condition is not yet known.
                Statistics show that one in four women will experience domestic abuse in their lifetimes and that domestic abuse will usually happen from 6 pm to 6 am. More than 60 percent of domestic abuse happens at the victims’ homes.
